HAPPY BIRTHDAY KING OF ROMANCE

  Superstar Shahrukh Khan, who is considered to be the 'King of Romance' in Bollywood, has turned 55 years old on November 2.



 This day is not less than a celebration for his fans.  Every year thousands of Shah Rukh's fans spend hours in front of his house 'Mannat' for a glimpse of his superstar on his birthday.


 And Shahrukh Khan is also known to his loved ones without making them angry.


 But this year, due to Corona epidemic, Shahrukh Khan is going to be a virtual face with his own Fans.


Shahrukh Khan, who entered the acting world in the golden era of TV, started his career with military and circus.


In his 30-year film career, Shahrukh Khan has given many memorable films which have left a deep impression on the Hindi film industry.


 Film affairs expert and historian Amrit Gangar spoke to the BBC in a special conversation about some of Shahrukh Khan's select films that made Shahrukh Khan a superstar of a different kind.

 'Illusion', 'fear' and 'execution'

Shah Rukh Khan, who stepped into the film 'Deewana' with Divya Bharti and Rishi Kapoor, did some films in 1993 that the heroes of that era did not do.


 Shah Rukh Khan played the hero who kills his heroin (Shilpa Shetty) in director Abbas-Mustan's 'Baazigar'.


 At the same time, in Yash Chopra's 'Fear', Shah Rukh Khan played the role of a passionate lover of one-sided love who could go to any extent in his passion.  The "I Love You ..... Wh ..... Wh ... Wh ... Kiran" dialog still maintains 'fear'


Amrit Gangar says, "Shah Rukh Khan launched a vicious hero with Baazigar. The same year, Shah Rukh Khan cast a negative in 'Dar' which was considered a taboo for the traditional Hindi film hero of that era.  Was


 But Shah Rukh Khan continued his negative roles in the film Anjam, playing an obsessive lover who pursues his girlfriend (Madhuri Dixit) and abducts her.


 


 Amrit Gangar believes that two French and Russian novels of the 19th century are a major contributor to Shah Rukh Khan's film career.


 Shahrukh appeared in a TV film based on the 19th century memorable novel 'The Idiot' by the great Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky.  This film was made by the well-known director Mani Kaul of that period.


 Director Mani Kaul was so impressed with youngster Shah Rukh Khan's understanding of acting that he wanted to make a film with Shah Rukh which was a great recognition of his acting ability.
