Gun gang raped in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, five arrested

 Five people have been arrested on charges of gangrape with a 17-year-old girl in Jamshedpur city, Jharkhand police said on Saturday.




  On Tuesday, the victim had gone with her boyfriend to Bagbheda area from where the accused forcibly took her to Kaliyadi Gaushala at Gunpoint, Senior Superintendent of Police Tamil Vanna said.


  He said the girl was raped there and tied up with her boyfriend.  One of the people arrested by the police, who is a minor, has been sent to a correctional home, while the rest have been sent to jail.


  According to police, a live ammunition and two live cartridges were recovered from the accused.


The girl initially said she was abducted while returning from dance school.

West Bengal: Sikh turban at BJP rally, controversy escalates


  Violent clashes broke out between police and the BJP at various places in West Bengal on Thursday during the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Nawa Chalo Abhiyan'.


  According to BBC correspondent Prabhakar Mani Tiwari, during the protest, the issue of Sikh Balwinder Singh (46) and his pistol being found in his possession has sparked controversy on social media.


  Apart from the BJP, Shiromani Akali Dal and cricketer Harbhajan Singh have also commented on the issue and demanded action against the culprits.


  Some members of the Sikh community also rallied in Kolkata demanding justice for Balwinder Singh.


  Balwinder Singh is the personal bodyguard of BJP leader Priyanshu Pandey.


West Bengal Police, on the other hand, clarified in its tweet that "Singh had a weapon. His turban fell on the spot with the police personnel. No policeman took off his turban."  I was asked to tie a turban. '


  Police say Singh had a license from Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir.  It is not valid in West Bengal.  Singh has been remanded in custody after being produced in Howrah court on Friday.


  Claiming the state of law and order in the state, the BJP organized the State Secretariat Nawan Chalo Abhiyan.
