Bhanu Athaiya: A custom designer who won India's first Oscar

Bhanu Athaiya, India's real scourge winner and world-renowned costume designer, has been diagnosed at the age of 91.

  Athaiya has acted in over 100 films with well-known filmmakers like Guru Dutt, Yash Chopra and Raj Kapoor since the 1950s.  He also acted in many Bollywood classics in 2001, including the scout-nominated film Lagaan.


  In an interview with Hindustan Times, Athaiya said that working on this film is the main feature of his career.




  In 2012, he returned to Scar Academy to keep it safe.
