Just last month, Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh was making headlines around the world for constructing a grand Ram temple. Whereas now suddenly Uttar Pradesh has become so famous for its another grand construction work that its echo has reached not only across the country but also to many parts of the world.
However, on September 19, when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced to make a grand and huge film city in the Noida area in Uttar Pradesh, it was felt that it is just an announcement, which will be known when it will start and when it will be completed.
But this scheme of Film City got wings when on September 22, Chief Minister Yogi invited some film people for lunch in Lucknow for its meeting. This sent the message that Yogi had made up his mind to complete the film city plan as soon as possible.
Yogi called not only the people of Hindi cinema in Mumbai, but also some people of South Film Industry in his meeting with the film people. Which indicates that the discussion about this film city is that now Hindi films can be made on their soil of their Hindi state.
But the government does not want to restrict its project to Hindi cinema only, it also wants to connect the cinema of the south with it.
Full plan of film city
The biggest thing is that within two days of this announcement and before meeting the filmgoers it was decided that where Yogi's dream film city will be made, what is its master plan and with the shooting floor and studio there What else will happen.
However, some things about the film city are still not clear. After the announcement of Film City, not only many people of Uttar Pradesh or the whole of North India have welcomed many people from the film industry of Mumbai and South as well.
One reason for this is that when Tamil films are made in Chennai, Telugu in Hyderabad. Most of the films of Kannada are also made in Bengaluru. Most of such Malayalam films are in Thiruvananthapuram, Bangla films in Kolkata.
Punjabi films are made in Punjab, Haryanvi films are made in Haryana and Marathi films are made in Maharashtra, so why are Hindi films made in Mumbai rather than in the Hindi states of Uttar Pradesh or Uttar Pradesh?
Secondly, with the formation of a film city in Uttar Pradesh's Noida, millions of employment opportunities will be available and new talent will also get opportunities. However, all these things are as good as listening and listening, but in reality it is not so easy.
If you are determined to do some work with determination to do it with nothing, then there is nothing difficult, yet today the biggest question is whether this Yogi's dream will be able to be fulfilled and how many years will it take to complete?
Also, on the lines of Hollywood, the Bombay film industry is called like Bollywood. In the coming tomorrow, the film city of Noida can be called 'Nollywood'. Then along with Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood have also been made in regional cinema.
Just like with the announcement of the Film City of Uttar Pradesh, people associated with cinema and politics have started saying that Hindi films will start being made in Noida instead of Mumbai. There is a similar perception in the minds of many common people.
So then the question also arises whether this film of 'Nollywood' will be able to compete with City Bollywood? Will Bollywood end in history after this?
Even before there is a film city in Noida
In fact, in the last few years, there has been a lot of talk about making a film city in Uttar Pradesh. For which sometimes Agra, sometimes Lucknow, Kanpur and sometimes Unnao's names have been proposed.
But the clouds of apprehension on government schemes also hover because some similar schemes have died before. In Uttar Pradesh, about 35 years ago, the then Chief Minister of the state government, Vir Bahadur Singh, also announced to build a film city in Noida.
Even after this plan of Veer Bahadur, many people including many filmmakers had expressed the hope that now Hindi films will be made in Hindi state. The people of Mumbai will now settle in Delhi.
After the announcement by Veer Bahadur, in 1987, Noida proposed to allot 100 acres of land for the film city in Sector 16 of Noida, so many big names appeared eager to build their film studios here.
